Magnetic Nails

Image
Hey everyone! I want to share my first try with magnetic nail polish with you all! Late last night, my friend and I were hanging out and she mentioned she got this magnetic nail polish and she hasn't tried it yet. I've seen it before but never got a chance to try it. I just had my nails done so I wasn't going to do mine so she did her hand first. It was a trial and error thing. The bottle had instructions but who reads those anymore? Anyway, it took a few tries but it looked cool after! I caved in and removed my nail polish to try this super cool nail polish in Graphite Gravity. Here, I'll give my review and my how-to. The top photo is the finish product. Excuse the messy fingers, it was late and I wasn't expecting to repaint my nails. I'll start with the how-to. Step 1) Paint one base coat on every finger. Just do one hand at a time. The first coat can be a thin layer Step 2) Paint a second coat on one finger Step 3) Immediately use this magnet, that is att

Neutrals and Nature

Image
One with the nature I guess! I mean we all go hiking in our Tory Burch   Reva Ballet Flats   right? Again, another hot Summer day but I think it should be cooling off soon. Stores are already getting Fall collections in. Soon we will be breaking out the jeans, boots and sweaters. For now, lets enjoy the sun, shorts and tanks. I went for a neutral color scheme today. Black top with tan shorts and black flats; accessorized with silver. Each item has a unique detail about it like the shorts. I normally don't wear tan/sand colored clothes because it blends with my skin tone too much but I really like these shorts. It is satan underneath with a lace overlay. The lace doesn't move weird either so it keeps a clean look. Sometimes when pants or shorts don't have pockets, it's annoying because I don't have somewhere to put my phone or misc. items but when it looks sleeker without pockets, like these shorts, then I don't really mind. Another thing I like about these sh

Minted Summer

Image
MINT! MINT! MINT! I can't begin to explain how obsessed I am with this color. Light, dark, accessories, jeans, tops - anything! It is such a big Summer hit. Elie Saab 's Spring/Summer 2012 Couture Collection has the most gorgeous mint gowns! If you haven't seen the collection, I highly recommend it! I saw it awhile back and knew this color was going to be super popular and it has. From being seen on celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Selena Gomez, this summer has been all about mint.  Shorts: Urban Outfitters          Top: Ambience Apparel        Shoes: Forever 21 It was really nice today and since it's almost the end of summer, I wanted to put my high waisted shorts to use. I saw this color palette in a magazine and really liked it! I happened to stumble upon this lovely shirt, which had my two summer favorites : collar tie and mint colored. The length of the shirt is a little long for jeans so I tucked it into navy blue high waisted shorts. No belt needed, the sho

Live Taping

Image
Hey hey, let's start off this week with something fun! I was recently at a live audience taping for the show, Chelsea Lately . The dress code was "casual formal". I was originally going to wear a dress but changed my mind last minute because it felt too fancy. So I thought a nice top and jeans with some heels would work and I would have an outfit for the night too. :) If you know me, you would know I usually like neutral colors. So this blue is pretty bold for me. I'm trying to get into more colors and brighter colors since I already own a lot of black, white and gray. For the "formal" side of the outfit, I went with a sheer collar top. The collar/button up looked better than just a t-shirt. With this shirt I usually dress it up because it does look fancier than just casual due to the material, collar and button detail. Lets just say, I definitely was brighter than most with this shirt and color but I love the color! Although Chelsea wasn'

Thrift Look

Image
So since this week we were on the topic of finding good deals , this post will follow in that trend (and probably the next post too ). Now some people think thrift stores are gross and dirty and weird but you would be surprised as to what you can find. Brand names, cute style, good price! Thrift stores are a great way to be eco friendly and up-cycle clothes also, I could sit here all day and give you pros about thrift stores but that list would go on and on so lets cut to the chase. In this, everything I am wearing is thrifted . Lets start with the blazer by Victoria Secret Body. This is probably one of my most favorite finds because of the price and the fact that I need a black blazer. I was looking for one for a long time but it was hard to find one that was the right length and fit and reasonably priced. Oh and I like the strips on the inside when you cuff the arms!  When I found this, I was in disbelief. Black blazer, my size, under $10... IS THIS REAL LIFE? It was no question, I n

Super deal shades!

Image
Merry Monday! I just wanted to share a recent purchase that I am so excited to have found! This is a pair of Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses. White frames don't really look good on me and I prefer not too loud sunglasses but this was such a deal, I couldn't pass it up! I bought them for just $5 (and tax of course)! That's almost the same cost of a coffee! I figured I could use these for the beach or in the water. They didn't cost very much so I don't mind if they get wet or anything. I'm sure these retailed $50- $80. Any one that is a deal hunter knows how exciting finding something like this is!

Pop of accessory

Image
As Summer's end approaches, I'm looking at Fall 12' items already. This was more of a casual day, neutral colors, white half button up oxford shirt, black pants, and light brown boots. The outfit felt very bland to me so I added a pop of color with an accessory. I love this scarf! Instead of being long, it's a square shape which I love because it allows me to style it in many different ways. Casual enough to have a laid back day, cute enough incase I see friends!   Photo creds: Olivia Palaad
