Minted Summer

MINT! MINT! MINT!

I can't begin to explain how obsessed I am with this color. Light, dark, accessories, jeans, tops - anything! It is such a big Summer hit. Elie Saab's Spring/Summer 2012 Couture Collection has the most gorgeous mint gowns! If you haven't seen the collection, I highly recommend it! I saw it awhile back and knew this color was going to be super popular and it has. From being seen on celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Selena Gomez, this summer has been all about mint.

It was really nice today and since it's almost the end of summer, I wanted to put my high waisted shorts to use. I saw this color palette in a magazine and really liked it! I happened to stumble upon this lovely shirt, which had my two summer favorites: collar tie and mint colored. The length of the shirt is a little long for jeans so I tucked it into navy blue high waisted shorts. No belt needed, the shorts have 3 buttons on each side for a little detail. I have a lot of blue shorts and was on the fence on these shorts but got them anyways because of the price. One tip for everyone looking for a bargin: the trick is to shop for items at the end of the season (to stock up for the next). Shorts and tanks usually around this time are on super sale. Just browse and I'm sure you will get some good finds.

I like that this top has a little overlap detail up top and the sheer material. Since the sheer is so thin, it's nice and airy for warm days like this. Like I said before, it's a long shirt so I prefer it tucked in. Because of the collar tie and button up look, it has a prim and proper look to it. The sleeves are just the right length. There is elastic on the end so it doesn't move around a lot. If you don't have a collar tie shirt yet, get one! They are so useful for occasions such as meetings, interviews, and work. Classy but can dress it up or dress it down.

The shoes were such a good deal! Every summer I get new sandals. I know I'll only really wear them in the summertime so I just get a few cheap ones. Sandals usually only last through one season anyways especially if you constantly wear them, which I do. I got this black pair early in May but didn't have a chance to wear them until the end of May/beginning of June when it started to get warm. I believe they were only $7.80 from Forever 21. I just wanted a black pair, basic and goes with anything. I like the double strap and they're comfortable. Oh and I just noticed my toe nail polish is mint green also! Hehe I didn't even mean to match it. Goes to show, mint green is everywhere!

Happy hump day all! The weekend is just right around the corner!
