10 Summer Essentials: Fashion
With summer around the corner and warm weather rising, you need to make sure you have the perfect essentials for the season. All you need is a good staple and those will be your go-to's all summer. These things will be great for all sorts of adventures... beach, exploring, lounging, swimming.. all that jazz that warm weather has to offer. Here are a few things I recommend having.
Flip flops are the easiest thing to wear. I live in my Rainbows in the summer. They are so comfy! I just slip them on and I'm out the door. When you first get them, they will be stiff and it will take some time to mold to your feet but once they do, they are the best. Down side is that they are leather which is great for comfort but not ideal for the beach or other water activities. Another option is to get a pair of rubber ones like Havaianas or Reefs. Most of those are water resistant and are comfortable also.
Protect those eyes! Make sure to get UV protectant though. A good pair of sunglasses will be so helpful against those UV rays on hot days. If you are outdoors a lot, snag a pair of quality sunglasses. If you know you are going to get a lot of wear out of them, it will be worth it! You can definitely find inexpensive ones anywhere that will do just as fine also. Find ones that are a good fit with your frame and it will be the best accessory all summer.
Shorts are great for those hot days. I say denim because they are like jeans... they go with everything. You could just throw on a white v neck and cut offs and be good to go. These can be easily found anywhere... Macys, Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, etc. It's a must have summer item so be sure to have a pair handy!
All you need is one good swim suit for the season! Swim suits are hard to shop for so having one key suit, you''ll be set. Don't stress yourself out with getting a million different styles. Have one and stick to it. It'll be good to have for those beach trips, pool parties or just tanning days. Find one that you feel most comfortable in. After all, you may be in it for hours!
Just like sunglasses, a hat or fedora will be an essential accessory to protect you from the sun. One of the easiest body parts to burn is the face/scalp. A hat will keep that from happening. It covers your head and face but can also dress up an outfit.

There are so many styles of sandals to choose from. I am a sandal fanatic so I love wearing these in the summer. They are so easy going but still really cute. I like to have different styles (strappy, gladiator, simple, colors, heeled, etc) to go with different outfits or whatever I'm doing that day. I recommend even just having one pair of basic sandals will be set.
I say maxi dress but really any summer dress will be a good staple to have in the closet. It is just so easy to wear. It's an easy throw on item. You could use it as a beach cover up or dress it up for a day out.
A romper or jumper is similar to a dress... easy fit, quick throw on and a good item to dress up or down for whatever events.
A nice large tote will be great for carrying all your essentials to the beach or the pool. A good tip is to find one that can hold a towel.. those can get annoying to walk around with!
This will be so helpful for those summer nights. Not too cold, not too hot... this will be a layer to have. Find one that is lightweight, that way if you need to carry it around all day, it won't be a hassle.
Have one of each and you will be set for the summer. Make those your must have, go-to items. Start preparing now!
