10 Summer Beauty Essentials
Hello friends! It's been a while but I'm back and ready to get this rolling again. I had to work out some kinks with my blog so with that said... I have changed my domain from Les Haute Couture to this one that you are looking at now.. Ready Set Wonder. My reason for that is because my old one was hard for people to pronounce and I didn't feel like that suited me. I also didn't want this to be a fashion based blog but more of a lifestyle one too. So... WELCOME TO READY SET WONDER!!
Here are some beauty essentials that will help keep you hydrated and moisturized with the heat.
Best part of going to the beach is getting that soft, wave in your hair after getting out of the water. Well this salt spray is a good alternative to that if you aren't by a beach. You can find these anywhere. Use a couple sprays and it leaves your hair with beachy waves (without having to go to the beach)! The best that I have found is by Bumble to Bumble.
If you burn easily, SPF will be your best friend. There are so many different kinds and amounts of SPF options. I recommend using the effective ones for what you are doing. Like if you are going to the pool, use a waterproof sunscreen. If you are going to be out for a long period of time, use one with a higher SPF or longer time range. Don't forget to cover the sensitive spots like ears, hands, tops of the feet..etc.
I like to have a separate sunscreen for my face. They make special ones to help keep skin clear and moisturized (down side of sunscreen..so much oil!)
The heat will dry out your lips really fast so be sure to have one of these handy. Nivea, and other brands make special sun protectant ones with SPF which is perfect for the summer.
Face make up + SPF
If you wear make up in the sun, be sure to get a foundation with SPF. This will keep your face covered and protected. You can also find some that are water resistant if you are going to the pool or beach.
Water proof mascara
Not only is this great for water activities, it lasts all day. Yes, it is a little harder to remove when you want to take it off but it will stay throughout the day. No runny eyes in the pool!
The heat will also tend to dry out your hair. The best way to keep it healthy and hydrated is with a serum. You can find these at any drug store for different types of hair. Most of these serums will also help with frizz and tangle.
Self explanatory...again, a great item if you are doing water activities. You won't have to worry about your make up running and won't need to reapply. (okay maybe touch up here and there)
Lush: Skin Drink
This product by Lush will help keep your skin hydrated against the heat. Skin Drink is a moisturizer that helps smooth out dry skin. I've tried this before and I really like it. You only need a little amount and it lasts.
It's the summer... try some nice bold, fun colors. Check out the summer collections from Essie or OPI. They usually have a couple small collections that come out around this time and they are the perfect colors for summertime!
